BUTLER, Ind. – Sept. 3, 2025 – Debra Rorick, FNP, has joined the Parkview Physicians Group (PPG) – Family Medicine team in the Butler office at 409 E. Washington St.
“It’s a pleasure to welcome Debra to DeKalb County,” said Julie McCormick, market president, Parkview Health Northeast. “Her wide-ranging experience in nursing and caring for patients has prepared her to provide excellent primary care for local families, and she is ready to help them navigate their health journeys.”
While the area may be new to Rorick, she is no stranger to Parkview Health, as she has worked within the health system for over 20 years, since the beginning of her career.
Rorick, now a board-certified family nurse practitioner, has cared for patients in various environments. She has served as a critical care and vascular access nurse at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Prior to that, Rorick worked as a registered nurse in the surgical trauma intensive care unit (STICU) and as an operating room circulating nurse at Parkview Hospital Randallia.
“I have always had a calling to help people improve their health and overall well-being,” said Rorick. “Nursing just seemed like a natural fit for me.”
Rorick received her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN, Family Nurse Practitioner) degree from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind. She earned her bachelor’s and associate degrees in nursing from Purdue University in Fort Wayne.
She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Transitioning from practice in a hospital environment to a primary care office, Rorick said she is pleased to continue serving people within the Parkview Health system and looks forward to developing more enduring connections with her patients.
“My favorite patients to care for have been those that I've been able to spend the most time with and watch them recover,” Rorick said. “I look forward to building relationships with my patients and their families in my new position at the clinic. I also hope to be able to practice preventive medicine.”
As a vascular access nurse, Rorick placed PICC lines for patients – enabling them to receive intravenous medications more easily – a process that requires time and care, which gave her opportunities to learn about each patient.
Outside of work, Rorick enjoys reading historical fiction and mysteries, gardening and spending time with her husband of 32 years and their two children.
She has also volunteered for Junior Achievement (JA) and Just Neighbors Family Center and currently serves as a lector at St. Charles Borromeo Church.
“I also look forward to assisting my mother with her work at the Christ Child Society,” said Rorick. “I will be helping her package the donations given to new moms and school-age children in need of supplies.”
Rorick welcomes patients of all ages. To schedule an appointment, call 260-868-5843.
