AVILLA, Ind. – Sept. 11, 2025 – Aleena Brown, MD, has joined Parkview Physicians Group (PPG) – Family Medicine in Avilla and is welcoming patients at her office, 104 Nicholas Place.
“It’s always a pleasure to have Noble County natives return to practice medicine in the area,” said Jordi Disler, north market president, Parkview Health. “Dr. Brown’s passion for providing excellent care and her ability to foster wellness and build relationships with the families she serves is a true asset to our community.”
Dr. Brown completed her family medicine residency at the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, Indiana, after receiving her medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences.
She earned her undergraduate degree in health science from Grace College and Theological Seminary. There, she earned the Outstanding Biology Award and made the Dean’s List every year. She also received academic recognition with the Biology Scholarship and the Faculty Scholarship.
Brown developed a passion for primary care at a young age.
“My parents tell me I knew I wanted to be a doctor by the time I was 4,” she said. “When I was young, some of my closest family members went through health struggles that had me trying to understand what was going on and how I could help them. Watching my family members deal with their own health journeys encouraged my curiosity with medicine and ultimately led me down that path of study.”
Brown is board-certified and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
She served as president of Christian Medical Fellowship and student relations chair of the Medical Student Ambassadors while completing her medical degree. She was also executive director of Student-2-Student, a student-led program that brings undergraduate and high school students in to learn about the different fields of study in medicine.
“In every step of my education, I found ways to help teach and mentor through lab assisting and tutoring fellow students,” Brown said. “Student-2-Student allowed me to show local high school students how cool medicine and science can be.”
Brown is passionate about rural health, women’s health and medical education. Reflecting on her family medicine residency, she noted she enjoyed spending extra time with the families under her care.
“The faculty created an environment that allowed us to have fun while we learned,” she said. “Some of my favorite moments of residency were leading the medicine team, crazy obstetrics nights, delivering over 150 babies, and being a part of multiple twin deliveries and a triplet delivery.”
She’s thrilled to be starting her career as a full-spectrum family medicine physician and is excited about developing and maintaining long-term relationships with patients.
Outside of work, Brown loves spending time outdoors. She enjoys kayaking, hiking, fishing and biking. Other favorite pastimes include baking, reading, bullet journaling and staying connected with her alma mater, Grace College, and her residency program.
Brown and her husband, Jacob, are the parents of two daughters, ages 3 and 1. High school sweethearts, Brown and her husband attended East Noble High School and Grace College together.
“My husband has been my constant support and encouragement on this journey,” Brown said. “We are very excited to be back home with our families and to settle into our hometown community.”
Dr. Brown is seeing new patients of all ages, including pregnant women and newborns. She will be providing obstetrics services at Parkview Noble Hospital.
